Clypeaster scillae

Clypeaster scillae
Weissenegg Formation
Middle Miocene (16-11 Ma)
Retznei Quarry, Retznei, Styria, Austria
Acquired from a collector during a local trade show, September 2023

While this specimen is ever so slightly crushed, it is also unusually laterally compressed, and the aboral surface is heavily deformed, while the oral surface is mostly normal. Thus, to me it appears to be a pretty pathological specimen.
