I'm not understanding how I create a new album when I have no album at all, but it keeps telling me I must select a "Parent" album to create a new album? I can only assume the upload tools happen once I get past this incredibly confusing obstacle.

Hello Harmsway91, and welcome to the Forum. :)
There is a bit of a qualifier before you can post albums to the forum.
A user must make a reasonable number (varies from user to user) of posts before this option becomes available for you.
This was put into place to discourage posts from sellers and commercial spammers from taking up valuable storage space on the forums resources.
Keep hanging out with us and posting, and you'll be there in no time at all!
If you need ID help or just want to show off your collection, I suggest posting a thread in the ID or Member's Collection area! ;)
