Ok To Post Photo Copy Of Usgs Map?

If I give credit, Is it ok to post a photo of a section of a usgs geo map???

It's best to ask them.. Most have an email address.. Quite a few are protected by
copyright. We have no way of knowing which ones.. It's always best for members to ask
directly for permission first if they aren't certain.... That way no one is violating copyright laws..

I appreciate your bringing it up.. A huge step in the right direction.. :)

Roz is right. Even if it falls under fair use, a lot of copyright holders will still make a claim against you. Permission is usually the way to go for these things.
