I had a fun experience a few days ago. There is a new subdivision along the creek where I hunt fossils and fish, and there's an old quarry pit near the subdivision that has great fossils in it. So, I've been parking in the subdivision to access the creek and pit. Now, this subdivision is marketed as a luxury community, and there's maybe 12 houses out of 60 homesites, so there's a lot of wide open ground and streets with no structures. As a result, it's quite obvious when there's a car parked apparently randomly on some undeveloped cul de sac with no one around. There is a model home/sales office with a head guy that has a black Audi. I occasionally see him driving around the neighborhood, driving by my car etc. This Saturday I cruised through the neighborhood thinking I might fish, and he was driving out and passed me. I got to the sales office and didn't feel like pressing my luck, so I turned around to go out, and passed the black Audi again, this time him driving in, me driving out. So now I'm thinking they're really concerned are really starting to watch me. Sunday I drive in about the time a sheriff's cruiser is driving out, but he didn't act interested in me.

Well, the fishing is just too dang good right now to not be able to get in there, so I decide to bite the bullet and find out what these guys' feelings are. I get the Audi guy's name online and give him a call. I introduce myself, describe my car, tell him why I'm calling and that I'm interested in the geology down by the creek and in the pit. He had no idea what I was talking about and said feel free to stop by.

Whew! Looks like I've got a green light for hitting my favorite fishing and fossil hunting spots.
