Sciara willershausensis together with the much smaller and much more common Sciara strausi.

Taxonomy according to Kohring & Schlüter 1993.

Morphology according to Kohring and Schlüter, 1993, p. 193 (translated from German by oilshale):

“The body length is about 7.2 mm. The wing length is between 4.8 and 5.2 mm. The head is very small. The antennae are only incompletely preserved, in total the antennae are on average 1.5 mm long. Individual antennae are indistinctly recognizable in outline. The thorax is 2,1 mm long and oval shaped. The abdomen is 4.5 mm long and evenly pointed. The wing is round curved. Sc and R1 stands out clearly due to dark coloration. Pedicel of m-fork only slightly longer than branches M1 and M2. Cu with very short pedicel, branches distinctly longer..."
