    It's actually a very superficial crack in the matrix. It does run through the prone example, but has been expertly repaired and is barely noticeable on examination.

    These Oklahoma trilobites are found similar to Moroccan ones: by splitting the rock and hoping to split the trilobite and see the cross section. Just about every Oklahoma trilobite you will see has been split in half and glued back together to prep it.

    Fair enough, I'm not very used to that. Here we just have to split open shale :)
