    The recent Fundulus zebrinus was originally native to the following areas: Mississippi River and Gulf Coast watersheds from northern Missouri to central Wyoming and south to the Colorado River, Brazos River, Galveston Bay, and Rio Grande (mainly Pecos River) watersheds in Texas. Mostly on Great Plains.
