A nice upper shark tooth from the six-gill cow shark, from Chile. Possibly from a male. One cusp is missing (far right in first photo).

Every fossil from "collections" spends time on the front page, until another is uploaded. They get replaced if that makes sense.

    Thanks :)

Izak is right, whenever a new fossil is added to Collections, it stays on the first page until two new ones are added. This doesn't mean it's "featured" or anything, it's just a way to show that it's a new addition to the forum's database.

So, now that I've had multiple days to see your tooth on the front page, I really like it, especially the color. What are the chances you can get me 1 very similar? :meg: :)  :envy:

Thanks! I agree, even though it's missing a cusp, it's still a beauty!

Unfortunately, this is the only Hexanchus in my whole collection... Plus, I got this one from a friend of mine, and I don't think he'll appreciate much to see that I have his tooth away... :(

You can maybe try searching online if anyone has a Hexanchus from Chile for sale. Or even ask right here on TFF if any of our members has one he/she is willing to let go of. (Be careful though, because these teeth are not allowed to be exported anymore out of Chile; the tooth might be illegally obtained).

    Best regards,

    Max
