This silvery gray crown of a fossil Crinoid is quite impressive for its vascular arrangement of arms and protruding aboral cup. However, it is the nature of
its preservation that makes this piece very special. The fossil is pyritized as the metallic mineral Pyrite replaced the organic matter during mineralization.
