    Comments

Distinctive scalloped growth lines and angular plications identify this scallop as an Acanthopecten. This is the best specimen of its genera for the Naco where molluscs are common but usually poorly preserved.

Found in 200 mm wide slab with Composita subtilita, Myalina (Myalina) nacoensis, Anthracospirifer occiduus, Derbyia crassa, Aviculopecten, minute coiled gastropods, crinoid columnals, several bryozoans species and scaphopods.
