S. griffini has a smaller length to width ratio than S. problematica (MR 2057-121) however Petuch has named a large number of Cypraeidae from the Florida Plio-Pleistocene many of which are probably not valid. A variance plot of many individuals would need to be produced to unequivocally determine if S. griffini is a distinct species.
