I finally had the chance to go up to the Penn Dixie Quarry in Blasdell, New York. The trip was a great success. Although I didn't find a pristine Phacops trilobite as I would have hoped, I found some really neat stuff. Besides trilobites I found some good corals, crinoid fragments, brachiopods, and fools gold. The fossils were recovered from primarily the Windom shale, and are based around the Devonian, as all western New York fossils are.
