Nice finds!!! I get down to Fayette co. a few times a year. Are those hash plates in the first few rows from Fayette co? Don't recognize the matrix. If so, what formation did they come from? They are interesting. My favorite is your Gonioceras occidentale. I have been luck enough to find a few myself.

Yes Mike, actually both are from a very thin (3/4") layer that exists (very localized near clermont) just above the Isotelus zone near the base of the Elgin member, Maquoketa formation. It shows up now and again in random spots but always at this horizon and is almost solid  trilobite pieces with very little cementing them together.

@kurdelmb, I will have to keep my eye out a little closer when I am in your stomping grounds!!! I have an affinity to hash plates.
