Tony:  How do you tell the difference between a Ptychodus occidentalis lateral/posterior and a Ptychodus rhombodus lateral/posterior?  It looks like some of the laterals might have fewer ridges than Ptychodus occidentalis.  Is that your understanding? Both species appear fairly rhombic in laterals.
