Fin Lover's South Carolina Finds

Fin Lover's South Carolina Finds

These are fossils and artifacts that I have found either inland in the Summerville, Ladson and Goose Creek areas, or at a beach, with the exception of one picture from Aurora, NC.

Thank you so much for posting all the photos of the South Carolina fossils. I fossil hunted Charleston and Summerville SC for 20 years and then backed away. Lately I’m starting to get the itch.

@Lee Taylor, yes, I've seen your old posts on the forum.  Good to see you back here again!  I'm sure the hunting is not what it used to be.

This tooth from South Carolina I believe to be a Xenorophus as well.  What do you think20231129_225718.thumb.jpg.8bf345bd4c66d971678452dd60e42d54.jpg?  Approx 1" long.

@Shehunt, I don't think that's what it is, but it's hard to tell from those photos.  Why don't you try posting it in the Fossil ID section and we'll try to get you an answer.

@Fin Lover  Beautiful specimens and photos!  I hardly ever find anything big.  My areas have lots of small "micro" teeth but no big jawbones, mammalian teeth (at least fossils), and rarely are any of our fossil bones more than chunks, slivers or unrecognizable  pieces of whale ribs.
