  10. Fossildude's Purchased/Gift Fossils

A very small (but slowly growing)  part of my collection is comprised of some gift and some purchased fossils.

I've never paid more than $35.00 for a fossil.  (Not including shipping)
    Yep. I'm a cheapskate.

  12. Texas Turonian Ptychodus Teeth

Ptychodus whipplei teeth in the San Marcos Platform (SMP) area of the Western Interior Seaway have been very uncommon to find in my experience. Whereas, I understand that they are very common in the DFW and Sherman areas of Texas nearer to the Ouachita Mountains. I have now found a few of them in five different areas of the SMP. These are pictures of one of my best and largest finds in mm/cm scale. The first picture of the bilobed root. The second of the crown top. And the last from a side view.

  24. Durant Pond Site trip November 11, 2023

A small fossil hunting trip to an exposure of Caddo Formation limestone near the city of Durant, Oklahoma, USA. By far the most common fossil present are oysters, but there is at least one other species of bivalve, a species of echinoid (not pictured as none were found this day) and turritella(?) present at this site.
