Large Blade

Harry Pristis

Now, this is the size of the tool that would be useful at an elephant kill-site! Having said that, this is not really the sort of tool you find discarded at a kill-site.

There is no evidence of hafting. I call it a large blade; but, perhaps someone has a better name for it.

When this very large, percussion-flaked tool, was uncovered, it was shiney jet-black! Over the years, the black (iron) patina oxidized to a pumpkin-orange. There are still a few traces left of the black.
