Peltoceras athleta (Philips 1829)
Limestone mold. 4.5cm. This is from just over the border in Switzerland, so I thought I'd slip it in since it belongs to the same geological formation as we have here in southern Germany. It gives its name to the athleta zone of the uppermost Callovian and defines the border to the Oxfordian which is why I put it here instead of in the middle Jurassic gallery. Found near the small town of Ueken near Frick.
