Unidentified fish (caudal fin and part of the spine), Cenomanian-Turonian boundary (93,5 mya), Bonarelli level, central Italy.
These black schists are associated whit an anoxic event that lasted about 60.000 years, they extend all over northern and central Italy. They yeld many remains of fishes, plants, and rarely reptiles, but the quality and the preservation of the fossils varies among the various locations. In my case i've found abundant disarticulated fins, vertebrae and teeth, but very few articulated remains like this.
