The form of your find makes one think it might be, but it doesn't show any bone structure. Also, if the layers are older than upper triassic, then it's certainly not an ichthyosaurier vertebra, since they are mainly a Jurassic fauna which died out with the dinosaurs.

Yes, you are right, it's definitely not the same thing, I just thought it looked similar.
