Large Trionyx Shell Piece

Description: This is one of the largest pieces of turtle shell i found at Bouldnor and it comes from the less common turtle Trionyx (as opposed to Emys, whose shells are far more abundant). Collected on my third day at Bouldnor (30/11/13).

Geological Formation: Bouldnor Formation

Age: 28-30 million years old

Location: Bouldnor beach, Isle of Wight, UK
