Mammal Limb or Phalanx Fragment (view two)

Paleoworld-101

Description: This is one of the few pieces i found at Bouldnor that can be confirmed as being mammalian. Mammal fossils are far less common than those of turtles and crocodiles so this is quite a rare specimen. It could be the distal end of a tibia though it may also be the proximal end of a very large phalanx, likely from the anthracothere Bothriodon. Collected on my third day at Bouldnor (30/11/13).
