Bothriodon Proximal Phalanx (view one)

Paleoworld-101

Description: Perhaps the best fossil i found at Bouldnor. It is a proximal phalanx from the anthracothere Bothriodon and was identified by Dr Jerry hooker from the Natural History Museum in London. Complete bones of any size are rare at this site, as are bones from mammals (most are crocodile or turtle), so this piece is especially uncommon and i have yet to see a similar example on the internet. Collected on my third day at Bouldnor (30/11/13).

Geological Formation: Bouldnor Formation
