Ichthyosaurus Vertebra

Paleoworld-101

Description: A very nice, complete Ichthyosaurus vertebra found by my dad amongst the rock pools around the low tide line between Charmouth and Lyme Regis. It is somewhat rolled but still a very nice specimen and a decent size too (3.5 cm diameter). Collected on my third day hunting the Jurassic Coast (25/11/13).

Geological Formation: Charmouth Mudstone Formation

Age: 190-195 million years old

Location: Coastline between Charmouth and Lyme Regis, UK
