Before and After prep.

Lituites lii (Middle Ordovician ammonoid) before and after prep with air abrasives.

The dolomite may have been a bit harsh, but some more matrix could be removed.

I will have to take some time with baking soda to try to remove the excess.

Not too bad, though.

This was a purchase from a small rock shop in Bar Harbor, Maine.

I think I paid about $ 7.00 for it. I saw some prepping potential. :P

Not sure, Eric, - when I first searched for the Genus, Licuites came up.

Pretty sure it's Lituites.. etymology from the lituum trumpet of the Romans.
