Recommended Comments

This bivalve is Glycymeris parilis (Conrad, 1843). Do a google search of both Glycymeris and Astarte and you will see that the hinge is quite different between the two. Glycymeris demonstrates what is called Taxodont Dentition while that of Astarte is Heterodont.
