edge Of Cut bone

dalmayshun

I have tried to include what looks like the cut edge of one of the bones we found. It clearly was not broken off, nor cut with a saw. I am wondering if it was a paleo indian kill site. All the major bones were broken in half...my mind went to the possibility of humans splitting all the bones to get at the marrow.

A woman in north Florida offered me 30 pounds of similar bone fragments for 30.00 which included mailing costs. I turned her down because such fragmentary bone is almost impossible to identify.

I doubt early peoples deposited the bones, erorsion from eons of storms yes, but not paleo people. There are too many claims of paleo bone sites which are the result of natural wear. Such a site would be exceedingly rare.
