Andy -- what, if anything, have you learned about the white mineralization visible in this picture? Doesn't look like mere calcite.

I have something quite similar in a broken oviraptor egg. Steve Hess believes it is embryonic material, but I'm always a skeptic.

Regardless, this is an incredible egg.

I purchased this egg with the understanding the white parts were supposed to be embryonic material. Like you however, I'm skeptical. I personally believe the white parts are calcite. I have not confirmed this with an accredited expert yet.
