FISH PHARYNGEAL TOOTH-PLATES close-up
Here is a close-up of a trio of fish pharyngeal tooth-plates from a Plio-Pleistocene site
in the Santa Fe River. Both freshwater and saltwater fish may have these plates, and
both sorts of fossil fish are to be found in the river. More than one species may be
represented in this group.
