Thanks for sharing,  Its always neat to see nautilus specimens from other locales and ages. Our local ones tend to fall apart along the sutures like the segments of an orange. Then they can be reassembled.

Thanks for your comment. Most of the nautilus found on Sheppey tend to be crushed or just outside chambers but occasionally you get lucky and manage to find one that is in much better condition. I am lucky enough to have a couple of excellet little centres and a couple more nice larger specimens too.

 

I am always looking out for the mother of pearl shine as I fossil hunt :-)
