I'm not sure what type of vertebra this is as it doesn't resemble a whale or dolphin vertebra. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it's a bird. Maybe someone can help me identify it.

You'd probably be better off posting your unknowns under the Fossil ID forum, with multiple angle views of each item.  Both faces, sides, top, and bottom views.

You might get more of a response that way. 

This looks much too hefty for bird, in my opinion. :unsure:
