Troodon Posted March 20, 2017 This is the last one I'll comment on a very nice tooth. Aublysodon was a genus that was described only from premaxillary teeth, back in the late 1800's. The good news is that This practice no longer exists, identifying dinosaurs based on teeth alone. . Today it's not considered a valid genus and considered nomen dubium and is a indeterminate tyrannosaurid. Unfortunately sellers continue to sell these teeth with that name because they are cool to sell with that name. So what is it? Well that depends what formation it's from, if it's the Hell Creek it's either an adult Nanotyrannus or a juvenile Trex there is no way to differentiate which one based on isolated teeth. If it's Campanian in age there is no tell between, Daspletosaurus or Gorgosaurus and very late Campanian, early Maastrichtian Albertosaurus. It's a Tyrannosaurid indet. 1 Link to comment
