This Ptychocarpus unitus measures 2" long and is on a matrix measuring 1 3/4" by 3 1/4". There's a nice partial Alethopteris on the reverse side.
Alethopteris is a prehistoric plant genus of fossil Pteridospermatophyta (seed ferns) that existed in the Carboniferous period (around 360 to 300 million years ago). It is in the family Alethopteridaceae.
