A more conservative identification would be simply a Mosasauridae tooth. I was perhaps overeager to assign a genus and species to this larger tooth.

Update: Michael Polcyn of Southern Methodist University has identified this tooth as Tylosaurus proriger.

Great tooth! And definitely Tylosaurus, as the carinae run along the mesiodistal axis with the tooth exhibiting no significant mediodistal curvature. Awesome find! :wub:
