Pterorytis fluviana (Dall, 1903)

Statigraphy:  Pinecrest Sand Member of the Tamiami Formation

Location:  SMR Phase 10 Pit, Sarasota County, Florida USA.

Status: Extinct

 

Notes: Geographically widespread species in the Upper Pliocene and Lower Pleistocene of the Southeastern US, ranging from Virginia to Florida. Pterorytis conradi from the Lee Creek Mine, Aurora, North Carolina is a junior synonym of this species.
