Kitefin shark tooth from North Central Java, Indonesia.  Late Pliocene- Early Pleistocene in age.  This is the only Dalatias tooth I have personally seen/heard of from this locality.

EXTREMELY jealous ! Fantastic tooth. I struck out on finding any Kitefin teeth.

Thank you!  I couldn’t believe my eyes at first when I saw this tooth in the package; I have asked Indonesians before, including the contact I got this from, and they’ve all said that they haven’t ever seen or found any, and yet here it is!  Dalatias is a scarce tooth to find, regardless of locality.
