Stratigraphy:  Lower Tamiami Formation Bed 10/11

Location: Burrow Pit, Sarasota County, Florida USA.

Status: Extinct

 

Notes: Largest Turritellid within the North American Neogene.  Common in the Jackson Bluff Formation in the Florida Panhandle, T. alumensis is found mostly in the Lower Tamaimi.
