Order Neogastropoda
Family Turbinellidae

Turbinella streami Petuch, 1991
Stratigraphy: Pinecrest Sand Member of the Tamiami Formation.

Location:  SMR Phase 7, Sarasota County, Florida USA.

Status: Extinct

Notes: This species has a shorter spire and more inflated body whorl than T. regina.  Quite a bit of variation between T. regina and T. streami exists within the Sarasota area, however I have not seen the same degree of variation within Caloosahatchee specimens of T. regina.
