Type species: Coleia antiquarian BRODERIP

Coleia longipes (O. FRAAS)

Type locality: "Westerberg" in Nusplingen, southwestern Swabian Alb,

Baden-Württemberg. Stratum typicum: Nusplingen Lithographic Limestone,

Upper Kimmeridgian beckeri zone, Ulmense-Subzone (SCHWEIGERT 1998).

The lectotype comes from the deeper Plattenkalk beds, the horizon marked

by the presence of thin Silex beds. (see DIETL, SCHWEIGERT, et al., 1998)
