Unfortunately no, most of the slabs from Solnhofen are very hard and split easily. This sort of slab is very soft and doesn't split. The workers there call them "Fäule" (hard to translate - decay, rot...) and normally throw them away. Fossils in these slabs are very well conserved, but since the slabs don't split easily, you have to prep the fossils from above.
