Hello all. We were recently on 4-H trip to Greenwood County Kansas and stopped at a roadcut in the Kanwaka Shale. We have several questions, the first one is below. We found this crinoid stem with an encrusting Bryazoa on it. I believe this is Fistulipora but would like a more positive ID. Any help is appreciated

Hello I am a mom of 3 boys who love to pick up rocks. My middle son who is 11 is in the geology project in our local 4-H. I am a complete newbie and can't really tell between a rock and a mineral. I am completely clueless. We live in Butler County Kansas and it is hard to find people that can help us ID things. I was pointed towards this forum so here we are. I enjoy getting all the tips and tricks.
