    Eggshell?

Howdy all, Seller says these are dinosaur eggshells from the Gobi Desert. Is that true? If they are authentic, the seller also says they are of oviraptor. I took the liberty to compare them to oviraptor eggshells and they didn't match up. I then compared them to some maiasaura shells which have a similar texture and my opinion now is that these are of some sort of ornithopod, possibly a hadrosaur like barsboldia or saurolophus.
  2. Hi everyone! I saw these for sale listed as "Sabretooth cat upper molars from the gansu province of china", which is really cool since I've always wanted sabre cat material but I have no experience with these fossils (since they are unreasonably difficult to find/ get a hold of) so I'm hoping the forum can give a second opinion on the ID and point out any potential funny business (besides the obvious repaired break on one, which I'm okay with). Size isn't listed, but I have contacted the seller asking about that and am awaiting a response. Any insight is appreciated as always!
  3. Hi, I've got this for [price redacted), claimed to be a fossile from Morroco. What are the chances of it being authentic? Really appreciate your comments. Milad
  4. Hi, so I have this fossil that is carved into Ganesha but I would like to know elephant it is from and is it an authentic fossil. it is said to come from the Paleogene period
  5. I bought a few months ago and it is said to be a a fragment of the mammoth tusk is this piece authentic ?
  6. Recently was handed down a Megalodon tooth. Started doing a little research on megalodon teeth, and noticed people make replicas/fakes. I am no expert on shark teeth. So, I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone with expertise could determine if the tooth I have acquired is a replica or real. thank you!
  7. Hi All! I believe this fossil to be authentic, but I was hoping to gather opinions from more experienced collectors than myself. Can you help me out?
  8. Dear friends, I am very new to fossil collections and know little things about fossils. The brittle star fossils attached below are my first collection. I love brittle stars and I got it from a local seller in Australia. I would like to have your opinion on these two fossils. Are they authentic? If they are, where are they from (I only know they are from morroco), but not sure which part. Thanks!
  9. I've been keeping an eye out for a stegosaurus plates for a while and I came across this guy. From some of the pictures it looks like a piece of neck armor. The shape and size seems about right but it's hard to tell if the base and tip are the right width ratios. Additionally looking at it zoomed in I'm not really seeing blood vessels and it looks more like a piece of sand stone so I'm not convinced it's real but I've been lurking on the site for a while and want to get some advice from others what they thought before paying the price
  10. I recently purchased a spinosaurus tooth from a website which claim the tooth is genuine. I was hoping if any of you guys could confirm it’d be much appreciated:)
  11. Hello. There are many indicators to be authentic, but being such a common piece to forge, I would like someone to confirm it for me. This is the description of the sale: ...size of 10.5 cm... a 13 x 9.5 cm concretion. ... it has restorations.
  12. Hi there! I’m very new to the forum. I’ve recently been collecting various specimens - crinoids, fish, brittle starfish, trilobites, etc. I’ve come across the attached Cordulagomphus. The seller has said he/she purchased the fossil from a shop in Tucson, Arizona in the past and that it was found in Brazil, but I’m almost scared it’s a bit too good to be true, and I don’t want to get burned after paying the price. Can anyone take a look and tell me what they think? I really appreciate it!
  13. Thoughts on this skull. Contacted the seller and they stated they didnt know the locality where it was found. Is it Authentic fossil, possible species? Thanks guys
