  1. I do not know where is the right place to post, so I decided to do it at General discussion Read something about a "crazy" stone-collector from italy, we fossil enthusiasts are not alone... No stone left unturned in Italian artist’s workshop | GMA News Online (gmanetwork.com)
  2. After some negotiations will my girlfriend she accepted that my fossil collection would be a nice addition to our living room. Finally I think that I am in a point I can share the progress. Now I just have to keep buying fossils for the empty cabinets. I didn't discard any fossils even if some are composites/low quality from when I started collecting as it has sentimental meaning.
  3. Michael1

    Florida meg

Just posting for those who wanna see cool teeth. This is my best megalodon tooth and my second largest meg being 4.5-4.6 inches. Found in a florida creek during my last trip.
  4. Or the tiny stuff I cant use to lift lol. Anyways first we have a nice big honeycomb coral, very sparkly, not sure why its like that.

    Louisiana finds collection

These aren't my only finds but these are the "big" rocks that I have. I've found a lot of pet wood (no palm sadly) and a lot of agate (which ain't a fossil!) down here which is always a treat to find. Anyways here is the first picture of my collection, showing the overview.
  6. Hello this is going to be a topic where I share my recent buys, finds, and collection. Hope you enjoy! -Daniel I'll start it off with my most recent purchase of Gompothere teeth. - Sinomastodon sp. -Gansu, China -Miocene
  7. New here, love fossils. My collection in attached images. Coral and others I can not identify. Beautiful pieces.
  8. Hi everyone, Thought I'd take a minute to share. So, here's a Trilobite that I purchased about 20 yrs ago. Unfortunately, I lost the details of origin, etc...🙄 Measures about 2.5 " long. I named him Ernie 😄
  9. Hello everyone! Especially the experienced trilobite collector I need some reccomendations for my trilobite collection, kinda like what trilobite i should get and some demanding trilobite i should know and have in my collection.
  10. Some of the nicer fossils from Morocco that I own. Let's start! - Set of nice spinosaurus teeth. Found in the same tunnel and layer. Only some meters away from eachother. 11 and 10.8 centimeter KemKem group, Morocco - Hainosaurus Boubker jaw pieces (dentary + snout) associated from an adult specimen. Really rare. Sidi Chennane, Oued Zem Morocco - Huge 10.6 centimeter carcharodontosaur crown with neat orane/brown like colors. KemKem group, Morocco - Set of 35 associated Otodus Obliquus teeth. Biggest one measures 8CM. Took a while to find one. El Khourigba, Morocco
  11. I have a lofty goal to collect at least one species of every brachiopod found in the USA that I can possibly obtain. I recently started a spreadsheet to itemize my collection. Spread sheet is attached. I will also periodically add photos. So far I've added: Cambrian, Silurian, Devonian, Permian, Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous, Paleocene, Eocene, and Pliocene Brachiopods of the USA.xlsx
  12. Hello to everyone! I'm new here, but I really love this forum! It has really great vibes and you instantly can tell that this is a good and friendly community! My English is not good,I hope everyone can be more tolerant. I am Polybranchiaspidida, I live in China. So I many of my fossils are from China. In this topic I will show my collection of fossils(and maybe some other interesting things)

  14. I was invited to set up an educational booth at the Cranbrook Rock & Lapidary Club's Mineral, Fossil & Gem Show in October. It was a huge hit with the local collectors and members of the public. I was able to chat with a diversity of people ranging from families to fanatics and even some familiar faces from social media swung by to say hi. I am excited for the next event and will definitely be spending more time in Cranbrook. Such a welcoming community of fossil hunters and great number of Cambrian sites. Here are some photos of my table display. I wanted to spice things up and add fossils from around the world for this event as well as feature some of my current work.
  15. As the title states: Let's see your rarest specimen! Please feel free to share why it's rare.. i.e., is it rare in that locality? Is it rare in association with other specimens? Or is it just plain impossible to find? Looking forward to my socks getting knocked off 😀
  16. Just for fun thoughts. What fossils you would consider to be iconic fossils? Something that should belong in every collection? Some gems from everyones wishlist? One that picture should be in dictionary? Museum piece that you would specificly go to look or something that first pops to your mind when you think about fossils?

    Great weekend in Glen Rose

I went to my first show in Glen Rose over the weekend. I met some great people and had a good time! I managed to only buy 2 fossils….LOL! I sold everything I didn’t want to keep from my entry year to collecting halfway through the show, which amounted to a lot..I will miss some of the big eopachydiscus (19 incher was sold) but I have bigger ones I kept at home..also sold one of my nice oxytropidoceras but have 3 big ones at home. I’m ready to replenish my empty bedroom with new fossils! I was also really proud to see how well Mercer Brugler cleaned up the mortoniceras he got from me that I originally found this summer, if you saw them when I gave them to him you wouldn’t recognize the fossils..very motivating to learn how to clean them like he does.
  18. Poorly preserved but rare to find intact 4 - Pleisosaur tooth from Ramanessin Brook, NJ

    My finds today

Today i came to Lo Valdés, in Chile. A Jurassic formation based on abundant and relatively diverse ammonite assemblages. I found this!
  20. Figured that I would share some photos of part of my collection so far. Fairly new to this game and sure that many of you have collections that are amazing! Please share some photos of some of yours, or your prized pieces. Would love to see them! The vertabrae with the doc numbers is probably my favorite piece other than what I have recently collected. It is from Bob Ernst's collection.
  21. I have come into some cash, and am unsure whether to use it to buy something impressive that I have always wanted---a few I have my eye on is a triceratops horn, a partial raptor skeleton from china, a dinosaur foot and claw, a suchomimus claw, etc. Or, use it to instead buy a bunch of fossils which are cheaper, but missing from my collection---Allosaurus tooth, diplodocus tooth etc. What would others do in the same boat--is the priority for others getting that one more expensive, but hugely impressive piece, or getting lots of more common but still cool ones. I would like an Allo tooth, Albertosaurus tooth, diplodocus tooth for my collection, but I have also wanted that bigger, more expensive and more prestigious fossil like a skeleton or a horn. Would love to hear some thoughts.
  22. To start, I’m aware that the St Clair PA area owned by Reading Anthracite that contains the white ferns is closed for collecting in any general sense. However I have seen posts in the past and discussion that they allow organizations, often with a university, to collect. I just wanted to make a post to see if anyone is aware of this being the case, and the best way to go about reaching out if so. I am a member of the AIPG chapter at WSU in Detroit, and the officers of our group reached out to me to help organize a fossil collecting trip, and I thought it was worth consideration due to our position. And as a side piece if anyone has any other recommendations for spots or quarries to go to or reach out to as a medium-large group that’s doable in a day to 2-day trip out of Detroit I’d happily take those as well. I have a handful of other spots in mind but I’m sure there’s plenty more.
  23. Hi everyone! I've been collecting for almost 3 years now. After 3 years, I finally really know what my interest is. General dinosaur teeth + Marine reptiles up to the Cretaceous. I am bit at a halt however. For some dinosaur subspecies i have many teeth of. Which is starting to feel boring in my opinion. My thoughts want to collect as many dinosaur species as possible. Which require a lot of better contacts & patience. Do i sell of most of my teeth from one species or do I keep them? So many questions in my head. I'd love some tips, and how you other paleo fans collect your dinosaur teeth/fossils.

    My collection

Finally got around to getting another cabinet since my collection has grown. Little bit of everything. Here are most of my specimens, what do you guys think?
  25. So last weekend picked this up from another collecto. About 51 pieces of partial Megalodon teeth from Antwerp & Borseek, Belgium. These are quite more rare than you see in the USA or Indonesia for example. Biggest one measures around 5 inch.
