Found this that I believe is a cephalopod today at a devonian spot with imported material, I haven't seen a cephalopod with a bulbed tip before so I am not sure if it's some sort of pathology of a species or it's own species.

I just found this fossil in between Boyne City and East Jordan Michigan. It was found in a mound of rock from a gravel pit in the aforementioned area which consists mostly of Devonian fossils (petoskys and other rugose corals for the most part). I hope I am posting this in the right place, I am new to this forum and it's not easy for me to know where to post in various forums without angering a lot of patrons and administrators, so I went to the "id fossils" section and started a new topic. I hope I got this right! Also, I apologize for the pics because I was having a hard time shrinking them to a size that would let me post them (I could only get two). I hope the images I provided are enough. The fossil is approximately 5" across and 3 3/4" tall and probably Devonian. Thanks in advance!

These are pics sent to me by my cousin who was running a dozer and uncovered this fossil. There are Silurian and Devonian limestones in his area. I have also read that first Sea Cucumbers made their appearance in the Devonian. So I told him my best "guess" was "the fossilized endoskeleton remains of a probable Devonian time period Sea Cucumber"... I'm very unsure because those periods aren't my main study. Did I say wrong?
