I'm speculating it is a repaired injury. (Area marked next to a black dot)

    Monophoraster darwini Puerto Madryn Formation Miocene (23-5 Ma) Puerto Pirámides, Peninsula Valdés, Argentina Acquired from online, January 2023 From what I know on this specimen, it was brought to the United States of America by a Mr. R. G. G. sometime in the Mid-Twentieth Century. Specimen has been contained since collection in a Raphael Paris "Pomme de Pin" Lalique box, suggesting an approximate timeframe between 1944-1955 based on dates of this product I could find online. There is a smaller, fragmented specimen attached via matrix on the unpictured oral surface.
