  1. The eggs were from Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province of China. How come the two different types of eggs, two spheroidal and an elongated eggs, are sticking together? Are they genuine eggs or eggs glued together artificially?
  2. We took the family out for a day trip to Big Brook today and among many sharks teeth and squid pens, we found this interesting thing. My first thought was corprolite but it has cracks and structure? Idk any help would be great!

    Head crest.

Retained some fossilized mold feeding on the living matter. This subject was recovered the way it looks, the fossilized mold is sufficient provenance for that. The only likely plausibility? Oviraptor. The oviraptor tucked it's head between its knees unlike other dinosaurs which would show the upright head in the middle of the egg like this.
  4. Wattle hanging down the neck in front of the subjects chest. An extended wing. Translucent egg. A rare sight of a bird inside a fully preserved egg.

    Exciting Finds!

I found these dinosaur fossils near where I live. One is dinosaur skin and one is a footprint of a long-necked dinosaur. I already know this, but maybe someone could tell me how much they are worth? Sorry for the closeups - I'll try to go back later and get wider shots.

    Fossil ID

Hello, Found on the Meramec River in Roberstville, MO Any help with ID is appreciated. Thanks
  7. A seller near me has a fossil egg. A hadrosaur egg of some sort. I think the seller is genuine, and I am fairly well committed to buying the egg at this stage, but want to confirm things before it all gets the final go ahead. I've looked at the various egg buying guides here, and though this doesn't look quite like the example eggs given it also doesn't look like any of the fake eggs. Can people please let me know if they think this is a genuine egg? Thanks for the help!

    Kansas fossil... What is it?

Can someone give me an opinion on what this might be? Southeast Kansas found yesterday...
  9. Is this real? Seller told me it seems to be authentic and got it from a private dealer over in Israel. The seller seems to be honest about it, and it does look interested. Measures right a 4 inches and weighs just a little under 3 lbs. To me it looks to be authentic, but don't know since there are really good looking fake ones around too. Ideas? And coming from Israel, it could be the real deal, but don't know for sure how honest or not some people can be...
  10. A seller on online has this up for sale. Does this look legit? or more just like a rock that looks like a fossil? It measures 4 inches and weighs just under 2 lbs.
  11. I recently purchased this item from a seller who sold it to me as being a real Dinosaur Egg Fossil. It was found several years back in the State of Tennessee in the Real Foot Lake area. Construction workers were digging into a hillside/mound and uncovered this and several others like it while moving the dirt around. It is oval/egg shaped, and measures approx. 2.5 long by right at 2 inches wide. It weighs 5.9 ounces but feels heavier somewhat than that. I have no idea as to if this is a real fossil ? or just a rock that looks like an Egg Fossil. I've taken several pictures at different angles to show it better. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated since I'm still new at collecting these. Thanks..
  12. Hi guys not been on much due to limited internet sorry however I had ordered a 'geode' from a seller in China cheapish it is around 1.9kg in weight and it arrived. It looked like something I had seen before and sure enough I found similar listed as a dinosaur egg on the famous auction site, just wondered everyone's thoughts on what it actually is lol? couple of pics attached, im sure it is neither an egg or a geode personally
  13. Hello, I believe I found a fossilized egg at the American River in Rancho Cordova California. I was rock hunting and usually pick up any roundish rocks that I see, to determine later if I found something good. I found this loose on the ground amongst many other rocks. Upon examining it, I dont believe it's a rock at all. Also dont have a ruler i used what i did have and a quarter, so you can see a general idea of the size. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful weekend.

    egg shell

I enjoy egg and eggshell and wish to buy this. It is from Hell Creek. I don't have any from there. Does anyone know if it is actually eggshell and actually from there? I do not know where ID of triveratops comes from. Seller says was done by paleontoligst and he is relying on their info which they got by comparing to Asian eggshells (protoceratops maybe?). Unless a Triceratops nest has been discovered? I do not think so. Seller took extra photos, but throgh the glass of the frame as he could not open it. Picture 1 look like oviraptor-type eggshells to me. As does picture 3. Picture 2 is meant to be triceratops. I do not think so? It looks hadrosaur. It is from Glendive, Montana. I think much of it has been misidentified since letter refers to hadrosaur and labels say theropod.
  15. Hello, What is everybody's thoughts on this partial/worn dinosaur egg from France. Measurements: 16/11cm Location: Selernes - Var (83) France Age: 72 myo Seller says Titanosaur--am I right that from France, the oogenus would be Megaloolithus? The shell color seems a bit different than the usual eggs, but I am guessing that is solely because of differences in formation? I see there are a lot of places eggs have been found. Hard clay/limestone matrix and transferred to a strip of plaster, which is appareently the usual technique for collecting France eggs. So, does it look ok to everybody? I'd quite like a French egg to go alongside my Chinese ones--and this one is in my budget whereas most from France are pretty costly. I know it's not top quality, but they are quite rare from there. Thanks

    Eggy ID

Hi I am hoping for an ID of this specimen I found around chalk cliffs on the north Norfolk coast UK. There are several echinoids, belemnites etc but I’ve not seen anything quite like this. My first thought was an egg but I know they’re pretty rare so I’m not too convinced, especially without any notable markings. It does however have a brittle shell like coating so it has me stumped. It’s approx 11cm. im new to this group so if I’ve missed any details please let me know. Thanks
  17. I just had some kind of discussion in facebook regarding this egg from aix en provence. I was pretty sure its real, since it looks like others I found online and I was bought from a reputable dealer in europe. As there were some people who seemed to be sure its a composite I would like to get some opinions about it. Thanks.

    Beaked fossil???

Anyone know what this fossil is? I scrubbed for hours to reveal the beak. I think it may have been still in an egg, judging my position.

  20. I got this egg for free from the chap I get my China fossils from. Not the best shape, but for free, who is complaining? Now, is there any way to spruce it up a bit? Clean it etc so it looks nicer without further damaging it? Thanka

    Fossil finds

The BBC news has ran two great fossil find stories leading up to Christmas first headline was Largest millipede fossil ever! found on a Northumberland beach Arthropleura in a sandstone block Howick bay. The second story was of the best ever dinosaur embryo in egg found in china thought to be an Oviraptosaur. Both news items are worth checking out as they are fantastic finds. Merry Christmas to you all John

    Egg or Rock?

Hello everyone, I found yall on google while trying to get info about this interesting rock I found in the Fossile Coast area of Oregon a few months ago. Photos are attached and here is some info about it... Found in flowing water at the extended base of a 300 foot waterfall,. Its the tallest in the state but I forgot its name. The surrounding rock was all black and dark shades of earth., mostly basalt. My find was the only stone of a light color i saw in vicinity, both in the water and on the trail. The surface is smooth, certainly been in water a loooong time, almost feels like porcelain. There are small details in the surface that are visible, but cannot be felt. Attached is a 360 view of the top and sides. I stood it up for seeing the side it rest on. The measure lines are millimeters, total of 40. Thanks for helping!
