Cervidae Peace River (Wauchula), FL Peace River Formation Pleistocene -
I recently found this partial tooth in Florida and I really think it’s dire wolf. It looks exactly like the upper carnassial dire wolf teeth online. The only measurement i have is that the thickest part of the enamel from top to bottom is 17mm thick, not accounting for wear. Can you guys confirm/deny? Just got back from Venice (I'll post that report in the next few days, really good trip) and got this nice bone. I'm confident that it's a phalanx, and from Google I believe it belongs to a llama, due to the length compared to other animals like horses or tortoise. Any thoughts?

I went out to a site that I haven't visited in a while, and it was a bust. Until. I was just getting ready to leave, and went back to a place that I had searched right at the beginning of the day and decided to search just a little more, and then I saw it, at first I thought it was just a fragment, but it turned out to be a complete posterior meg, and my largest one to date! It is always important to search twice, this find saved the day for me, and was a perfect end to the day.

Excellent preservation in 3 dimensions 2 - Muskrat skull from Calvert County, MD 3 - Lobster (Hoploparia sp) from Ramanessin Brook, NJ. Poorly preserved but rare to find intact 4 - Pleisosaur tooth from Ramanessin Brook, NJ

I found this yesterday, I was wondering if it was the root to some sort of whale tooth. I have a picture of the only place where it shows the horizontal lines (in very scientific terms), but I'm not sure if those are just from damage. Thoughts? Thanks! an d here's the (only) image that shows lines.

Hi everyone, Recently found this oyster shell specimen from an area near Tampa FL amongst dredged limestone where I’ve found agatized coral. 99% sure it’s fossilized (has a very small amount of limestone stuck to the bottom), but something interesting is that there appears to be botryoidal agate coating it. Is this an agatized oyster? Is this a common find around tampa? And can I bleach it to remove algae?

Earlier today I thought that I should figure out what kinds of sharks teeth (that are possible to find in my area) I am missing in my collection, but to do that I need to figure out what there is to be missing. Does anyone have or know of a book, or just a general online list of every shark species that was, or still is in Florida, the books I have are either nonspecific, or not focused on Florida, I don't think I'm going to find a Greenland shark's tooth anywhere near here. Thanks!

Yesterday I posted the topic where I announced that my father found our first cow shark tooth, well today I couldn't resist temptation, so we went back to the exact spot and sure enough, there it was.along with a decent sized complete great white tooth, one of the signature finds of this creek. I cannot believe my luck, two days, two cow shark teeth.
