    Fossil Geode

Found at a junk store in Graves County, Kentucky. Unfortunately the owner didn't remember what estate sale he found it at. I bought it as a simple geode but after cleaning it up I think it may be a geodized crinoid calyx. Its extremely heavy, sorry, no bananas for scale. Thoughts?

    fossil help

I found a few more pieces of what I thought was crocodile at first but now I'm not so sure. Then started thinking could be drum fish part but the photos I seen looked a bit different. So thought I'd ask. They are from north carolina. #1 (top) #2 (bottom)
  4. Hello everyone ! I have stored these crabs a couple of years ago, while storing them they cracked (I suppose it is due to the internal humidity, they were found on a sea coast). I have the paraloid to apply them, but there are these cracks that I have to fill somehow so the paraloid doesn't leak. What material do you suggest as filling? And please know what percentage of acetone and paraloid is in the mixture? Thank you all ! greetings ! ps: the material that covers the crabs is hard sand EDIT: The reality is that I don't have much of an idea of how to prepare them, I was thinking of applying a layer of paraloid on one side, also filling in the cracks on something (the one where the broken crab can be seen, the place where it was exposed) and working on it on the other side.

    Unidentified Tiny Fossil!

Hello! I found this tiny fossil in the Chippewa River in Wisconsin. I was agate hunting and I picked up this rock because it shares the characteristics of an agate. When I flipped it over I was surprised by the tiniest little fossil! I am hoping to get some help with identification. The actual fossil is about as big of a pencil eraser.

Is this a tooth or tooth shaped rock!

My son found this on the beach and wondered if it might be a tooth or if it's just a rock that looks like a tooth! It's roughly 2cm long and was found on Charmouth beach in Dorset. Unfortunately it was damaged in transit home and I have had to glue it back together, the split you can see is on the left side top to bottom. Thanks in advance.

    Is this a tooth?

This is probably just a rock but it’s shaped a bit like a shark tooth. Found on a beach in Krabi Thailand. Thoughts? IMG_0463.mov
  14. So I found a few things at Myrtle Beach and I'm looking for some help in ID'ing them. I love looking for fossils but am not sure on things and I love the help I've gotten on this site so far. And any help with these is appreciated. The ruler is in inches. . . . 1: I thought this looked similar to a whale ear bone? Admittedly it could just be a rock but I wanted to post here and get some opinions. Getting photos of something black and shiny can be difficult but I could take more if needed, and maybe find better lighting. 2. At first I though alligator tooth but then I learned that mosasaur teeth have been found in this area also, so now I'm not so sure. Either way I love it. 3. I was thinking dolphin tooth but obviously it's broken so I'm not entirely sure. 4. And I thought I'd throw this one here too. When I saw it in the water I thought I was going to be picking up a cucullaea steinkern, but this is what it was. I thought I remembered seeing something like this online somewhere but I really have no idea, unless it's just a piece of some bone. So there they are. Any information about any of these would be much appreciated. And I could post more photos of any of these.

    Any ideas?

I bought this from someone at a mineral show and they didn't know what it was. It’s roughly 10 by 10 inches. I honestly know nothing about where it was collected or how old it is. I hope someone might have an idea based on these pictures. Thank you.

    Please help identify?

I need to know what animal it is, its age, and if I can make a document so I can travel with it to the United States, a friend in Uruguay gave it to me but I now live in Brazil, I am going to live in the United States and I want to travel with it, otherwise I don't know what to do. It makes me sad because it is a special gift and I know it is an important piece. Measures approximately 17 centimeters

    Looking to identify this piece!

I had purchased a few items from an estate sale of a gentlemen who was an archeologist that had past and this was in the lot. I was curious if this could be a fossilized bone? The texture seemed to be different than a rock, but not sure. Location was in southern Tennessee, but unsure of his travels. I don’t believe this could be enough to identify which species.

Help me figure out what this is!

I found this in the Wind River formation/ indian meadows formation. It was laying on top of the ground I haven't been able to figure out what it could be and It is so cool I need some help!
  25. 184uRocks

You probably know what this is...

I found this on my property (in Missouri), in a hunk of clay about a week ago. I spent up until now searching the area for other pieces, however, alas... nothing. Any information you may have is appreciated. This last image (below), I enhanced a bit to bring out details. Thanks for looking!
