Hello, today I have been hunting for fossils online(of course;)) and I found this. I already have a genuine Keichousaurus fossil so this one looked a bit off, it says he repaired the tail and some toes but I want you guys to judge.

My friend has always had this tooth in his collection that he found in gravel that was in a garden in Paris, it is obviously a shark tooth but we have no clue as to what species it is. And it would be helpful if someone could tell me what species of prehistoric shark it is.

Firstly, i never have any finds where i live so i doubt this is even a fossil. I have to travel to the coast for finds. Anyway, i was walking my dog in Wakefield in west yorkshire and found this rather unusual stone. Does anybody know what it is and why it has so many holes?

Any idea what species of horseshoe crab is that (or is it genuine)? Is horseshoe crab fossil very rare? The specimen was said to be collected from Hebei, China.

Perhaps I have found something fossil or perhaps it's just eroded ironstone matrix looking like fossil.

Hello! I won these two teeth from an auction and I am curious as to what they may be. It was listed as a fossil hyena tooth and a smilodon (which I do not believe given the location of the find and anatomy of the tooth, although it does have serrations). Any help would be appreciated =) The teeth are said to come from the Gansu Province, China. Dimension: 1st: 7.3 x 1.9 x 1.2 cm 2nd: 4.6 x 1.3 x 0.8 cm

Good morning, I was given this rock 15 years ago and I believe it is from East Texas, but that is just a guess. I have no other information. I think it is nifty, but no clue what it is. Sorry if the files are too large, I'm inept.

So the other day I was at a doctors appointment with my wife and when she was seeing the doctor I went on an on-line auction site and thought I would look around to see what was for sale. I came across the below Megalodon tooth that was a "Buy it Now". The tooth was 4 5/16" in length and the serrations and tip were nice. I was going to keep looking at the other items, but I then thought that I saw something on the blade. I zoomed up on the pic and it appeared to show signs that this tooth came in contact with another of its teeth, leaving serration scars on the tooth in 2 places, so i decided to buy it for that reason. I would appreciate any Meg collector to take a peek at the pictures and let me know if I am correct.

So I have posted some of the amazing petrified bones I have found from a special excavation site. I do not know what dinosaur it is, but it is huge. These were found off of a riverbank, in Edmonton Alberta and I have hundreds from the same site. I believe one picture is of a horn? Maybe another is vertebrate from a back? Any input please. Here is 2 more

I am new to this so excuse my lack of terminology. I am looking for help identifying what this is. I picked it up next to a excavation sight that I have pulled hundreds of bones from. I have also found many primitive stone tools in the same location. I found what appeared to be a primitive tool. Upon closer examination I have discovered the top half covered in a leather like impression. I am not certain that this is a tool, or a bone but I am under the assumption that this is a impression of skin on this object. Any information will be helpful. I will be posting pictures of the amazing bones I have collected in hopes of identifying what dinosaur I have. This was collected in the north Saskatchewan river, just off of the shore.

On my last trip a couple of months back one of the people I talked to told me the fossils from one area are fluorescent. So when I got home I purchased a light bulb and then a UV torch and started looking at some specimens. The torch worked better and sure enough some specimens gave off orange, yellow and green. Most specimens gave orange, particularly where crystals were evident in ammonites. I could not get a decent photograph myself but a friend experimented with one piece and the end photograph shows the actual colour seen. Next trip I will try a night fossick. below is a section of wood that has been mostly replaced with crystal. Does any one else have fluorescent fossils? Mike

I was surprised to find this amongst the prickly pear cactus alongside Cook Slough (a branch off the Leona River) in Uvalde, Tx. Can anyone confirm it as a sand dollar? It has the markings.

"Fossilized Turtle Eggs"
Trilobiting posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello, I found these "fossil turtle eggs" up for sale on an auction site. The seller claims these "authentic" turtle eggs were found in Bulgaria. I highly doubt these are even eggs, they may just be concretions. Just to be sure, I'm asking whether these are real or not.- 17 replies

Hello, I went to a craft show today and found this great fossil themed spoon rest! I've never seen anything like it and it was the only piece in their whole collection depicting fossils. I thought it was unique and wanted to share!

I found this yesterday, November 26, down at Venice Beach, FL near the fishing Pier, along with an assortment of shark's teeth, coral and other interesting things. It looks like a tooth to me but I didn't think it was a shark tooth. Does anyone know what it is from? Thanks in advance! I'll have to post separate posts for different angles; I guess my files are large.

Hey Hi Boys and Girls, Ladies and gentlemen, and all others! I have noticed that the phrase "It is just a rock" is used quite often when a non fossil rock is posted for an ID. I think that this is a bad choice of wording that can cause confusion. Most fossils and all trace fossils can be described as being just a rock also. (lithified life) I humbly request that We refrain from using this terminology to describe a non fossil rock. Regards, Tony
