Hello, because im on cruise to Norway next week, and we'll stop at these citys (Stavanger, Bergen, Nordfjordeid, Alesund), does someone know If fossils are known from there, or is it all geological, and is it legal to collect fossils in Norway and Take them to Germany ? Thanks If somebody knows !

As the title states: Let's see your rarest specimen! Please feel free to share why it's rare.. i.e., is it rare in that locality? Is it rare in association with other specimens? Or is it just plain impossible to find? Looking forward to my socks getting knocked off 😀

I found these two teeth in a creek near the peace river pretty close to eachother. Not really sure what they are was hoping someone could ID them. They are listed as find 1 and 2 respectively.

I was trying searching some micro fossils for the first time and found some fossils needed help with. Haven't done anything with bones or coral much. They are all from North Carolina. Found in glacial deposits E Kansas. Originally I (naively) thought this was a shark dorsal fin spine- after a few minutes of research I found I was mistaken So, I now (fairly confidently) am believing this is a fish pectoral fin spine. I'm no expert on fish material, but one guess of mine is this is some sort of Catfish spine... but I don't know what other fish have pectoral fin spines. Any thoughts? From glacial deposits in E Kansas. I need some help on this one. When I found it, I assumed it was bison... however to my eyes it doesn't seem close to bison or cow after studying some papers. Could this be hippus, or possibly something else? As always, I really appreciate y'alls help. I'm stumped with this bone, I do my best to id stuff on my own- Still learning. Thanks! Proximal: Distal:

Greetings all, This is my first post so please excuse any obvious ignorance. I'm an absolute newbie in all things fossil hunting related. I was wondering if anyone help me confirm if this is or is a sort of a fossil or just a random rock? Found it near Hannover Point at Isle of Wight during low tide. Feels fairly light and has some distinct shiny/ gold-ish patterns among the cracks. There is also a sort of a vertical ridge going through the length of it. Thank You! Michael

Found by blue river in Kansas City Missouri. I have no clue what I have found. I always find small brachiopods,horned coral or bivalves in this area. It was difficult to get a good photo. First fossil collected ever - clear! But what is your very last fossil collected in the field? Sounds absurd and sad, but I think, there are members in this forum, which do not longer field collect. I am one of these, I don´t do field trips any longer, and so no more fossils. Too much work, too many family issues, already too many "rocks" . Field trips turned to stress makers lately, so I skip them completely. Big relief! Maybe I will do field trips in the distant future again, but I will not collect any more fossils etc., just photographing them. Hope, I can withstand the temptation then . This is the very last fossil I have collected, that to the right: The very last mineral/ore specimen was found and collected a week later, disseminated chromite in dunite from Sommergraben, Kraubath ultramafic complex, field of view ca. 14 cm: Franz Bernhard

Here’s one for our resident ichnologists. This is far out of my league to id. Found in Branson MO, it’s limestone. Bunch of ripples where I found this. I don’t know Branson strat, so unfortunately that’s the most info I can give you. The trace in question is roughly 1 cm wide. Thanks in advance!

This was found in a dried up creek bed in Arizona, near Tombstone, Arizona. At first I seen the crystals sparkling and thought, "cool an old 'Hag Stone'. ...in the desert???" On further inspection it kind of has a distinct shape. Also the hole look much like sinuses in a skull, possibly bird.

Hi all, Thanks so much for the kind feedback on my Berthasaura reconstruction. Here is another example of my work: A 'juvenile' tyrannosaur skull based loosely on Jane (BMRP 2002.4.1) I'm aware of the debates regarding age and species however I have just approached this as younger individual. Thanks so much for checking out my sculpt. I'm printing a prototype as we speak, I'll post some updates on here once its assembled!
